Pearson International Air Traffic Continuing To Increase Over Milton
The Greater Toronto Airports Authority recently reported that air traffic over the Greater Toronto Area, including Milton, during the first nine months of 2023 increased to 88 percent of what it was in 2019, prior to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Passenger growth increased 11.9 percent for the first three quarters of 2023 at Toronto Pearson Airport, relative to the same period in 2022. All five runways were in use in 2023 and all contributed to air traffic above Milton.
The GTAA continued to implement noise management procedures as well as work with the airline industry to do the same. The procedures are part of a strategic, multi-year plan to reduce air traffic noise over the GTA in the face of heavier use of the airport and greater use by larger airplanes. CR
